Ward Helms

Zeb Ward Helms, 95, passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2012. He was born March 11, 1917 in Union County, son of the late Zeb Sampson and Mary Broome Helms. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112. A memorial service will be held Friday, August 10, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Gordon Funeral Chapel. Mr. Helms is survived by his son, Ralph Helms; daughter, Carol H. Reeder and husband Arthur, all of Monroe; sisters, Nellie Helms of York, SC and Ruby Wells of Matthews, four grandchildren, Shan Young, Bill Reeder, Buzzy Helms and Wynne Helms all of Monroe, ten great-grandchildren, Morgan, Madison and McCall Reeder, Alexa and Colton Hollis, Kayla, Kasey, Quinton, Gavin and Sheldon Helms all of Monroe, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Buren Helms, Emmett Helms and Moran (Dimp) Helms, two sisters, Hazel H. Jenkins and Millie H. Drye. Memorials may be made to Mt.
