Ward Napoleon Stegall MARSHVILLE - Ward Napoleon Stegall, 92, passed away on Friday, October 11, 2013. He was born on January 25, 1921, in Union County, son of the late Julian Benton and Pearl Gaddy Stegall. He was married to the late Helen Hinson Stegall for 63 years. He was also preceded in death by an infant son and another young son Scott Lane Stegall. Mr. Stegall was a Word War II veteran, member of the 83rd Division and a gunner on sixty millimeter mortar weapon. He served in various European countries including Germany, France, Belgium, and Holland. Visitation will be at Gordon Funeral Service on Sunday, October 13, from 5-7 pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 14, at 2:00 pm at Olive Branch Baptist Church with burial service to follow in the Olive Branch Cemetery. Mr. Stegall is survived by his four daughters: Louise S Napier and husband Henry, Diane S Griffin and husband Irvin, Norma S Drye and husband Bobby, and Beverly S Howell and husband Doug, and five sons: Bill Stegall and wife Betty, Joe Stegall and wife Wanda, Kenneth Stegall and wife Sharon, Tim Stegall and wife Dawn, Gary Stegall and wife Debra; sisters Madeline Stegall Rushing and Joyce Stegall Thomas, brother Jim Stegall; sisters in law: Lena Stegall, Mary Stegall, Annie Napier, Frankie Little and husband Lee. Mr. Stegall has 18 grandchildren: Taura Napier and husband Matthew DeForrest, Mika Stegall and husband David Bruce, Kirsten Napier and husband Randy Durbin, Clark Griffin, Anita Griffin and husband Chris Wallace, Aaron Stegall and wife Alicia, Aleque Stegall and husband Stuart James, Jarrod Stegall and friend Lauren Pfefferle, Matthew Stegall and wife Chandra, Kenan Stegall and husband Cameron Thomas, Darren Drye and wife Amber, Adam Drye, Brooke Stegall, Brett Stegall, Scott Stegall, Garrison Stegall and wife Jennifer, Gage Howell and Gatlin Howell and 18 great-grandchildren: Mia and Raina Bruce, Edain DeForrest, Kira and Carter Durbin, Addison and Blain Wallace; Shelby, Ansley, and Charley Stegall, Logan and Bryson James, Olivia and Lane Stegall, Karsyn and Ryder Thomas, Nolan and Liam Drye.
