Wayne Davis Yates

Wayne Davis Yates, 73, of Monroe, NC passed away peacefully November 30, 2018 at the Hospice House at Aldersgate in Charlotte, NC. Wayne was born in Fayetteville, NC on April 7, 1945 to the late Malcolm and Ernestine Davis, he was also preceded in death by his brother Malcolm Yates and sister Lou Yates Grissom. A service to celebrate Wayne’s life will be held at Lee Park Baptist Church, 2505 Morgan Mill Rd, Monroe, NC 28110 on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 1:00pm with Pastor Chris Justice officiating. Mr. Yates attended Queens College and also UNC Charlotte where he graduated with a degree in business management. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1966 and received an honorable discharge in 1972. Wayne was an avid golfer and was called “Iron Man” by his golf buddies as a testament to his physical conditioning due to his lifelong dedication to exercise and good health. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Juliana, her three sons, Bobby, Vann and Scott, and eight wonderful grandchildren.
