Wesley Edward Shaw, 75, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2012. He was born in Union County, NC on January 20, 1937 son of the late Wesley Vernon and Avis Lanell Strawn Shaw. Mr. Shaw was a US Army veteran and a retired college professor. Mr. Shaw is survived by his wife, Mary Baker Shaw, sons, Wesley Edward Shaw, Jr. of Oxford and Joseph Vernon Shaw, Sr. of Monroe, daughter, Virginia S. Ketchum of Monroe, brothers, Ward Bruce Shaw of Philadelphia and Bobby Vernon Shaw of Monroe, sister, Janis Misenheimer of Monroe, 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Thursday, October 18, 2012 from 4:00 until 5:45 PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112, followed by memorial service at 6:00 PM in the Gordon Funeral Chapel.
