William Henry Armstrong

Dateline: Monroe, NC William Henry Armstrong, IV Mr. Armstrong, 62, of Monroe, passed away suddenly at his home on Wednesday, March 18, 2009. He was born in Memphis, TN to the late William Henry Armstrong III and Louise Fox Armstrong, who resides in Safety Harbor, FL. He is also survived by one brother, John and Mary Armstrong of Inverness, FL and one sister, Barbara Armstrong Harris and husband Jerry, and long time friends, Frank and Debbie Kurtz of Waxhaw. Mr. Armstrong attended Clemson University until his deployment in 1969-70 to Vietnam with the United States Army. He was ranked as 1st Lieutenant as an advisor training the Vietnamese Army to fight their own war and was awarded the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and various accommodation metals for serving his country proudly. He was self-employed as a Manufacturers Representative with Armstrong Sales for various plumbing companies. He enjoyed NASCAR, College football games; coin collecting was his passion and spending time with friends. The visitation will be held at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC, 28112, on Thursday, March 26, 2009 from 11:30-12:45 pm, with a funeral service at 1:00 pm in the chapel.
