William “Bill” Donald Hanus, 94, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026. He was born on August 30, 1931 in Elizabeth, NJ, son to the late William Hanus and Anna Katula Hanus. He is also preceded in death by his wife of sixty years, JoAnn Fettig Hanus.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:45PM on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at St. Matthew Catholic Church Chapel, 8015 Ballantyne Commons Pkwy. Charlotte, NC 28277. Bill will be laid to rest privately by his family at Lakeland Memorial Park.

Bill is survived by his four children, Christi Sauter and husband Ken, Todd Hanus and wife Marjorie, Noreen Weatherstone and husband George, Bridgit Kerger and husband Marty, ten grandchildren, Cooper Sauter, Nicolette Moutafis and husband Adam, Spencer Sauter and wife Allie, Carina Baxley and husband Jacob, Connor Hanus, Caila Hanus and fiancé Allan Moutvic, Kensie D’Orio and husband David, Coleman Weatherstone, Niclas Kerger, Jena Kerger, three great-grandchildren, Gavin Moutafis, Addison Moutafis, Ezra SauterGreene, and two great-grandchildren on the way.
