William "Bill" Hoyte Nash

October 11, 1934 — April 22, 2024

William "Bill" Hoyte Nash, 89, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 22, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and family. He was born October 11, 1934, and raised in Union County. He was the only child of G. Banks “Doc” and Ruby Lee Nash.

A funeral service will be held at Gordon Funeral Service and Crematory at 1904 Lancaster Avenue Monroe, NC 28112, on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at 2:00pm in the chapel with burial to follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive family and friends prior to the service from 1:00pm until 1:45pm at Gordon Funeral Service and Crematory.

A man of unwavering faith, Bill dedicated his life to embodying the principles of goodness and kindness. His devotion to family was unmatched, with his beloved wife, Gladys G. Nash, by his side for 74 years of marriage. He was blessed with 3 kids Kathy N. Trull (Wilson), Randy Nash (Renee), and Greg Nash. His greatest joy came from watching his family grow, including his five grandchildren Patrick Trull (Amber), Alison Alvarez (Richard), Kristen Millar (Chris), Ryan Nash and Maegan Moore (Brian) and twelve great-grandchildren; Lillian (Lily), Landon & Lucas Trull, Alivia, Kaitlyn & Greyson Alvarez, Eva, Sam & Red Nash, Piper, Amelia & Beau Moore. One particularly cherished memory among the many that Bill leaves behind is the celebration of a shared birthday. Among his five grandchildren, there was one granddaughter, Kristen Millar, who held a special bond with her grandfather, as they shared the same birthday.

Professionally, Bill sold building supplies, providing well for his family while earning numerous sales awards throughout his career. Bill's legacy extended far beyond the confines of his immediate family and the church; it reached into the very structures that sheltered those he loved. With his extensive knowledge of construction, Bill bestowed a precious gift upon his family and community - the gift of his expertise, craftsmanship, and dedication to quality. His legacy lives on in the homes he helped to build, serving as a tangible reminder of his dedication to his craft and his desire to make a lasting impact on the lives of those around him. His true wealth lay in the countless lives he touched through his genuine kindness, with and infectious spirit. Bill never met a stranger, effortlessly striking up conversations making lasting connections and laughter wherever he went.

His zest for life was evident in his love for camping at Ocean Lakes with family, long Sunday rides with the grandkids to get watermelons, golf cart rides with the grands, and always enjoying southern foods and desserts. Bill's presence was evident in every room he entered, bringing warmth and joy to all fortunate enough to know him.

A selfless soul, Bill always placed others before himself, exemplifying the true meaning of generosity and compassion. He cherished every moment spent with everyone, treasuring the bonds of family above all else.

Though he may have departed from this world, Bill's legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered as a beacon of light and love in the lives of those he touched.
