William (Bill) Michael Rowell, age 73, of Monroe, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026, just three days before his 74th birthday.

Born January 7, 1952, in Cabarrus County to the late Walter Earnest Rowell and Helen Theola Pressley, Bill married Terri Ann Couick in 1975, and they shared over 50 years together.

Bill worked hard his whole life, but he made everything look easy. He could build or fix anything, and if anyone needed help, he would be there before they finished asking. He lived next door to his mother for over twenty years and never missed a chance to check in on her. He loved his family fiercely.

He is survived by his wife; his brothers, David Rowell (Diane) and Baxter Lockhart; his sister Wandra Wade (Rob); his two children, Billy Rowell (Sharon) and Leah Robertson (Rick); and his grandson Blake Rowell. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Jerry Rowell; and his sisters, Linda Broughton and Geraldine Wilson.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, January 10, 2025, in the Chapel of Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC 28112, with visitation to follow at Gordon Funeral Service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Council on Aging in Union County, 1401 Skyway Dr, Monroe, NC 28110.
