William Thomas (W.T.) Broadway, 79, of Indian Trail, NC went to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born March 7, 1942 in Union County, NC, he was the son of the late Thomas and Lois Simpson Broadway. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Geraldean Love and Frances Melton.
Funeral service for W.T. will be held 11:00AM Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Crooked Creek Primitive Baptist Church, 7918 Crooked Creek Church Rd., Monroe, NC 28110. Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, May 21, 2021 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe NC 28112.
W.T. was a faithful member, deacon and church clerk of Crooked Creek Primitive Baptist Church. He was a retired row crop and poultry farmer and co-owner with his brother, Maurice Broadway, of Broadway Farms Strawberries and Produce.
He is survived by his loving wife Darlene Hasty Broadway; three children Julie Griffin (Marty) of Indian Trail, Stacey Broadway (Melissa) of Monroe and Sherri Flowers (Ryan) of Mount Holly; two sisters, Jeanette Hinson (Steve), Catherine Baucom (Don); four brothers, Maurice Broadway (Carolyn), Lowell Broadway (Nancy), Kenneth Broadway (Kathy), and Larry Broadway (Kim); eight grandchildren Haley Cunningham (Derek), Wilson Broadway (Melody), Landon Griffin, Jacob Broadway (Jasmine), Walker Griffin (Addi), Cole Broadway (Valerie), Jackson Flowers and Sophie Flowers; four great-grandchildren, Brighton Cunningham, Deacon Broadway, Raelynn Cunningham and Denver Broadway.
