William Marther (Willie) Giles

Dateline: Monroe, NC William (Willie) Marther Giles, 87, passed away Friday, January 23, 2009. Born June 6, 1921, in Jackson County, Fl. son to the late Jessie and Lee Daniels Giles. Willie retired from Union Power Cooperative, and served in the US Army during WWII. He is preceded is death by his wife Alma Plyler Giles, two sisters Beatrice Hewett, and. Dora Mae Gibson. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, January 25, 2009 in Gordon Funeral Chapel 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe NC 28112. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Willie is survived by one daughter Judy G. Pressley of Monroe, two step-daughters Betty Delgado of Atlanta, GA, and Joyce Autrey of Monroe, seven grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 24, 2009 from 6:00PM until 8:00 PM in Gordon Funeral Cremation Service.
