William Frederick Hoyt

William Frederick Hoyt, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2015, as he struggled to keep the memories of his 88 years of life, our father finally lost his battle to Alzheimers. He was born on October 14, 1926 in Richmond, VA son of the late Alden Grinnell and Winifred Wood Hoyt. Mr. Hoyt was a US Navy veteran, a retired engineer and a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. A Celebration of Life service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Plantation Estates Chapel, 733 Plantation Dr., Matthews, NC 28105. The family will receive friends following the service. Mr. Hoyt was preceded in death by his wife, Nannette Lynch Hoyt in 2006 and daughters, Beverly Jean Hoyt in 2006 and Valerie Lynn Hoyt in 1981. He is survived by daughters, Karen Elizabeth True of Tega Cay, SC, Melanie Patricia Gill and husband Donald of Boonton, NJ, and Tracey Ellen Pickens and husband Ivan of Puyallup, WA, sister, Rosemary Stokes of Huntington, WV and 9 grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 3800 Shamrock Dr., Charlotte, NC 28215-3220.
