William Patterson Keels

Mr. William Patterson “Pat” Keels, 92, of Wesley Chapel, NC passed away surrounded by his loving family Friday, November 27, 2020. He was born in Mecklenburg County, NC on May 14, 1928 son to the late Issac Wesley Keels and Laura Anderson Keels. A graveside service will be held at 1:00PM, Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Siler Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 6301 Weddington Road, Matthews, NC 28104. Pat served his country in the United States Navy near the end of World War II. He was a long-time member of Siler Presbyterian Church, where he served many positions over the years. He retired from Union County Public Schools and enjoyed spending his time as an avid gardener and spent time hunting and fishing which he really loved doing. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Mrs. Winona McGuirt Keels, best known as “Jibby”, his three wonderful sons: Wesley E. Keels (Debbie) of Wesley Chapel, NC, Kevin Keels (Mary), of Indian Trail, NC, and Joel “Joey” Keels (Alexina) “Ronnie” of Hanover, PA, brother, Orean Keels, of Indian Land, SC, sister, Lillie Earle Fincher of Charlotte, NC, six grandchildren: David Keels, Kyle Keels, Caitlin Keels, Lilly Roos (Larry), Corey Keels and Bradley Keels, and one great-grandchild Cody Roos. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Siler Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 6301 Weddington Road, Matthews, NC 28104.
