William Bryant Kennington

October 10, 1935 — January 30, 2016

William (Bill) Bryant Kennington, 80, originally from Pageland SC, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2016 at home from natural causes. During his life, he had a football scholarship to Wofford, served in the Navy, was a Boy Scout Master and was very active in his Masonic Lodge. He had been awarded a lifetime membership to Mt. Morama Lodge, Oasis Shrine Temple and Oasis Dune Cats. He was a former President and Treasurer for the Dune Cats. Most of Bill’s employment was in route sales until he started ABK Power Clean from which he was retired. In addition to sharing his time with the Shriners, he could usually be found performing random acts of kindness to people he came in contact with. The family requests no flowers, but suggests memorials to Shriners Children’s Hospitals, 950 W. Faris Rd., Greenville, SC 29605 or a memorial of the donor’s choice. Bill is preceded in death by his parents Dr. and Mrs. George W. Kennington, Jr.; his sister Betty Joe McKinnon; and brothers George P. Kennington and John W. Kennington. He is survived by his wife, Anne McGuirt Kennington; four sons, Bryant Edwards (Ann) of Midland, Berry Edwards (Wendy) of Denver, NC, Ritchard Kennington (Jenny), of Awendaw, SC, and Billy Kennington of Charlotte; also two stepdaughters, Laura Hall of Lake Wylie, SC and Lisa Cooper of Trinity, NC; eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. There will be a graveside service at 11:00 am on February 4, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Pageland, SC and a visitation following the service in the Fellowship Hall.
