William "Bill" Mcinnis

William Donald “Bill” McInnis, 75, died Sunday, August 12, 2007. He was born in Iredell County, NC on February 21, 1932 son of Mable Ursery McInnis and the late George Franklin McInnis. Bill was a graduate of the University of Maryland where he was an outstanding collegiate boxer, having been inducted into the North Carolina Boxing Hall of Fame and was a member of the Hall’s Board of Directors. He was an Eagle Scout, awarded the Order of Long Leaf Pine, a former member of the Monroe School Board and former Democratic Party Chairman. Bill was a former banker and financial manager. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 16, 2007 at 10:00 AM at St. Pauls’s Episcopal Church. He is survived by his mother, Mable U. McInnis Riley of Kannapolis, wife, Margaret Ellen Sechler McInnis, sons, Doug McInnis and wife, Lori Ellen of Polkton and David McInnis and wife Tracey of Monroe, brother, Richard McInnis and wife Jane of Matthews, sister, George Ann Sipes and husband Gary of Salisbury and three grandsons, Sam, Daniel and Dylan McInnis. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening at 5:30 at Gordon Funeral Cremation Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC. Memorials may be made to the burn center at Shriners Hospital, 950 W.
