William Stamey Phillips

Dateline: Monroe, NC William Stamey Phillips, 84, died Sunday, November 7, 2010. Stamey was born in Union County, NC June 25, 1926 son of the late William Hoyte and Sara Baker Phillips. He was a US Army WWII veteran. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at 2:00 PM in the Gordon Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday, November 8, 2010 from 5:30 until 8:00 PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112. Stamey is survived by his wife Frances Tomberlin Phillips; son W. T. Phillips of Monroe; brothers Harold and Joe Phillips both of Monroe; sisters Grace Greene and Hazel Hargette both of Monroe; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
