William Edward Pressley, 75, of Monroe, passed away quietly at his home on Monday, April 14, 2014. He was born in Union County, son of William Earl and Mildred H. Pressley. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, James Earl Pressley. Mr. Pressley was a graduate of Benton Heights High School. He then worked for the FBI in Washington, DC before joining the U.S. Navy in 1958. He proudly served his country for four years. After working successfully in the millwork industry for a number of years, he formed his own business, Heritage Windows in Monroe. Mr. Pressley loved his wife of 54 years, Joann C. Pressley. His children and grandchildren were an integral part of his life. He was faithful to his church and loved the Lord. He spent the last day of his life at his church worshipping the Lord and fellowshipping with his church family. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112. Services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, April 17, 2014 at High Hill Primitive Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery, officiated by Elder Larry Austin and Elder Brannon Hooven. Mr. Pressley is survived by his wife, Joann C. Pressley, son, Michael Pressley and wife Jill, daughter, Sherri Pressley, grandchildren, Tanner and Samantha Pressley, two sisters, Carol P. Williams and husband David and Betty P. Hinson and husband Jerry. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
