William Grayson Waldron, 65, of Monroe, NC, passed away on Monday, July 3, 2017 in the comfort of his home after a long courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born May 17, 1952 in Rochester, PA a son of the late Theodore and Martha Hurley Waldron, II. He received his college degree in Mechanical Drafting and was a United States Marine, where he served in the Vietnam War. William was married to Mary Ann Waldron on December 2, 1978, they were happily married for 38 years. William worked as a Sergeant and Programmer for the North Carolina Department of Corrections for 28 years where he retired. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. A celebration of life memorial service for William with military honors will be held 11:00AM Saturday, July 15, 2017 at the Gordon Funeral Chapel 1904 Lancaster Ave Monroe, NC 28112 with the Rev. Tony Crowley officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. In addition to his wife Mary Ann, he is survived by three children, Adriane Waldron, Matthew Waldron, Christopher Waldron, three brothers, Theodore Waldron, III, Terry Waldron, Frank Waldron, and a sister, Ellen Fentross. The family would like to extend their gratitude and appreciation to Gordon Funeral Service, Hospice of Union County, CMC-Union, and his long time friends, the Kurtz Family.
