William "Billy" Watkins

William Billy Edward Watkins, 81, passed away Friday, December 30, 2011. Billy was born November 29, 1930, in Union County, NC, son of the late Lonnie Baxter and Margaret Elma Hargett Watkins, he is also preceded in death by a son Edward Eddie Watkins. Funeral services will be held 2 :00 PM, Tuesday, January 3, 2012 in Gordon Funeral Chapel, burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Betty Mullis Watkins, a daughter Elizabeth Lib Watkins of Charlotte, a brother Richard Watkins of St. Petersburg, Fl., a sister Irene Price of Indian Trail, a grandson Derek Watkins and two great grandchildren Derek Watkins, Jr. and Katey Watkins The family will receive friends on Monday, January 2, 2012 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Gordon Funeral Service Crematory 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC 28112.
