Willie Williams Griffin CHARLOTTE - Willie Williams Griffin, 93, passed away Monday, April 15, 2013. She was born in Union County, NC on September 12, 1919 daughter of the late Samuel and Blanche Jerome Presson. Mrs. Griffin was a resident of the Carriage Club. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 17, 2013 from 12:30 until 1:45 PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112 with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM in the chapel. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Mrs. Griffin was preceded in death by her husbands, Denton Roland Williams, Sr. and Bruce Griffin, Sr., and also a grandson, Zackary Williams. She is survived by her son, Denton R. Williams, Jr. and wife Dianne of Charlotte, daughters, Sylvia Bolick and husband Ted of Matthews, Karen Pressley and husband John of Ocean Isle, grandchildren, Amy Pate and husband Joe, Beth Willis and husband Byron, John Pressley, Jr., Jeremiah Williams and wife Mary Margaret, Seth Williams and wife Meghan, great grandchildren, Abby, Caroline, Bailey, Harper and Dent. Mrs. Griffin is also survived by step-children, Bruce Griffin, Jr. and wife Sis and Pat Stewart and husband Butch.
