Willie Mae Simpson Rushing

Monroe, NC Willie Mae Simpson Rushing, 83, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, died Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at her residence. She was born in Union County, NC on September 10, 1922 daughter of the late Clifton and Asberry Williams Simpson. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3:00 PM in Longs Grove Advent Christian Church. Burial will follow in Shiloh Advent Christian Church Cemetery. Mrs. Rushing was preceded in death by a brother Wilson Simpson and a grandchild, Beth Price. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Troy J. Rushing, children, Judy Tarlton and husband Floyd, Clayton Price and wife Gloria, Eddie Rushing and wife Carol, Karen Greene and husband Nelson all of Monroe and David Rushing and wife Linda of Indian Trail, grandchildren, Belinda Hicks, Jennifer Ivey, Chris Price, Melissa Price, Lisa Little, Michael Greene, Andrew Rushing, Josh Rushing, Amber Doane, Caddie McManus and Wendi Rollins, 14 great grandchildren, sisters, Marjorie Medlin of Monroe and Hazel Rushing of New London. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 at Gordon Funeral Cremation Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe.
