Yates Neil Gordon

Yates Neil Gordon, 91, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015. He was born in Union County, NC on December 13, 1923 son of the late Charles Baxter and Minnie Keziah Gordon. Mr. Gordon was a US Army veteran serving in the Infantry during WW II, was an employee of Spring Industries for 37 years and was a lifetime member of Oak Grove Baptist Church The family will receive friends Saturday, January 10, 2015 from 12:30 until 1:45 PM at Oak Grove Baptist Church, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM in the church. Burial will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park Mr. Gordon was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Crook Gordon, and by all of his brothers, Steve, C. B. Jr., Fred, Donald and Billy Gordon and sisters, Mae Gordon, Lenna McCorkle, Lucille Shannon, Julia Wrenn, Ethel Borchers, Roena Krauss, and Hazel Price. He is survived by his sons, Larry N. Gordon and wife Margie of Monroe, Eddie F. Gordon and wife, Peggy of Polkton, daughter Ann Clute and husband Roger of Monroe, 9 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church, 4013 New Town Rd., Waxhaw, NC 28173.
