Zachary Jarod "Zac" Cureton, 36, of Waxhaw, North Carolina, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on June 17, 2026. Born on May 22, 1990, in Charlotte, North Carolina, Zac was the beloved son of Herman and Jennifer Cureton.

Zac graduated from Butler High School before earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He built a successful career with Vanguard, where he most recently served as a Talent Attraction Analyst.

He was known for his dedication, strong work ethic, and the meaningful relationships he built throughout his career.

Zac was an avid sports fan who proudly cheered for the Philadelphia Eagles and the UNC Tarheels. He was also an excellent cook, and a movie enthusiast. Zac embraced life with enthusiasm and gratitude, and his character left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Those who knew Zac will remember him for his infectious personality, generous spirit, unwavering loyalty, and kind heart. His laugh was contagious, and his presence brought light and joy wherever he went. Zac was truly a gift from God—a shining light with a beautiful soul who touched countless lives through his kindness, authenticity, and love.

He is survived by his wife, Katy Milton Cureton; parents, Herman L. Cureton and Jennifer Anthony Cureton; brothers, Antwain (Ashley) Cureton, Christopher Sanders, Matthew Cureton; sisters, Joi Cureton, Shemeic Martinez; grandmother, Margaret Cureton; godson, Kamdyn Green; dog, Jaxon William Cureton, aka Jax, and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and special friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, John L. Cureton, Stafford Anthony, and grandmother, Pauline Williams Anthony. 

A memorial service celebrating Zac's life will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe NC 28112, beginning at 11:00 AM.

Though his time on earth was far too short, Zac's legacy of love, laughter, faith, and friendship will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and lovingly remembered.
