Zeb Vance Goodman

Dateline: Monroe, NC Zeb Vance Goodman, Jr., (affectionately known as “Sonny or “Junior”), 75, passed away peacefully at home on November 1, 2012 in the presence of his loving and devoted family and his devoted family dog, Princess, after a courageous battle with lung and brain cancer. He was born on April 18, 1937, the son of Zeb Vance Goodman, Sr. and Carrie Polk Goodman in Union County, NC. He graduated from Wingate High School in 1955. He worked for Dickerson, Inc. Surface Treatment Division for 30 years; Rea Construction Company for 5 years; Wampler for 10 years; and Boggs Paving Company for 12 years. Surviving are his wife, Katherine Matthews Goodman for 49 ½ years of the home; daughter, Sandra Goodman Butler of Stallings, NC; one grandchild, Brandon C. Butler of Stallings, NC; one sister, Margaret Goodman Steele (John) of Lancaster, SC; three nephews and four nieces. Visitation will be Saturday, November 3, 2012 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112. Funeral will be held on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Gordon Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. Frank Crump. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park, Monroe, NC.
